A large motoring organisation has said that 55% of used cars in Ireland are found to be clocked – had the mileage tampered with. This means that more than half were found and the rest were not.

At Dublin Diagnostics we can agree with these findings.

What we find is that very popular models are far more likely to be clocked than the less popular models. This fact can be taken either way meaning that some models are less popular because they show higher mileages and the more popular models are popular because they show lower mileages.

We find that 4 out of 5 BMWs are clocked followed closely by Ford Focus diesels and Audi A4s. Small hatchbacks are the least likely to be clocked.
